Well, that’s an interesting question – something I’ve been trying to figure out for years.

It all started when I was about 15 or 16 years old..

In maths class, I would ask the teachers what seemed a stupid question at the time, “Ms, how can I apply y=mx+c to making more money”.

The kids would laugh and say, “what a silly question Ms”. I may have even received a few detentions because of those sorts of questions.

The issue was back when I was at school there was no “Chat GPT” or “Reddit Forums” to get me a quick answer.

We had to figure it out..

We only had dial up internet at home; you probably remember the days, right?

Anyhoo,

After school, I wound up totally confused – should I travel? go to University?

I did what the smart kids did 😉 

Ended up working at Subway, Pancake Parlour & ToysRUs and getting fired from all of them (not for anything illegal of-course).

During my work making delicious footlong subs, the owner of the store ran a “photo-booth” company. I did a few jobs for the event company on weekends.

I noticed the machine kept breaking down and clients were not happy.

That was my entry into business.. my first baby PIKT Entertainment.

18 year old me thought it was going to be easy?

I asked my Dad (who is a tradie): “Dad, how do I get more customers”

He said mate.. “go ask ya friends”.

Well, that didn’t work so I actually employed a Melbourne-based company (I won’t mention the name) who locked me into a 6 month website + marketing contract and delivered 0 results..

I was lucky to get out of that contract in 3 months from a promise to fully built custom website in 1 month followed by guaranteed rankings on Google (none of which was delivered).

I ended up Youtubing everything from website development, Meta Ads, Google Ads & SEO. A few years later that business ended up turning over approx. $300,000 in revenue!

My first business success lead me to working for and partnering with Australia’s largest digital agencies including Digital Next, King Kong, Ranked Media, Mebsites & Megaphone Marketing.
